The prospects for the forthcoming SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg

(27 – 29 November 2012) are excellent. The trade fair for electric automation is the highlight of the sector. More than 1,400 exhibitors will showcase their electric automation innovations, products and solutions in twelve halls.

International meeting point for exhibitors and visitors

The latest booking information shows that this year’s SPS IPC Drives with exhibitors from almost 40 countries will be as internationally diverse as last year. The countries currently most strongly represented after Germany are once again Italy with 73 participating companies, followed by China (44) and Switzerland (35). From experience, bookings will continue to come in right up to the start of the event in November and therefore the event’s best ever total of 388 international companies last year is expected to be reached again this year.

The trade fair offers a platform for producers and users at senior level to discuss technical issues and exchange ideas and information. In depth discussions with the exhibiting companies will enable trade fair visitors to find out about the full range of products and services on offer at the event. Following on from last year’s record visitor figure of 56,321, more than 50,000 trade visitors are also expected in 2012. The percentage of international visitors continues to rise each year and reached 21.1% in 2011.

Fast and discounted travel to the exhibition

A new feature of this year’s event is the cooperation between Mesago Messemanagement GmbH and Lufthansa AG, which will give visitors guaranteed low priced flights to and from Nuremberg.

The collaboration with further airlines means that visitors from all over Europe will be able to travel to the event speedily and in comfort. The airport’s excellent links to the public transport network will allow for a fast transfer to the exhibition centre.

Interested visitors can make bookings and register free of charge for a day pass for the exhibition via the organizer’s homepage. The exhibition will open from 9am to 6pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 9am to 5pm on Thursday.

Comprehensive information on offer

With 48 presentations, two keynote speeches, three tutorials and a trend session on “Sustainable Automation”, the conference which will take place in parallel with the exhibition will provide its usual comprehensive overview of the industry.

The joint stands “AMA Center for sensors, measuring and testing Technologies”, “Open Source meets Industry” and “wireless in automation” will enable visitors to find out more about these topics in detail and to start identifying targeted solutions for their automation problems.
