The 23rd International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition, EuroBLECH 2014, opened its doors today at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds. From 21-25 October 2014 the trade show will be the key marketplace for professionals from the sheet metal working industry from all over the world. With a record number of 1,573 exhibitors from 38 countries and a net floor space of 86,500m2 this year’s exhibition shows a 3% increase in floor space and a 5% increase in exhibitor numbers compared to the previous event. For the first time in the long history of the exhibition, EuroBLECH features more exhibitors from outside Germany than domestic companies: 52% of exhibitors at this year’s show are foreign companies.
“The high proportion of international participation at EuroBLECH 2014 demonstrates the importance of the show for the global sheet metal working industry. Independent of the economic situation in their respective countries, suppliers of machines, systems and tools for sheet metal working participate at the leading exhibition for this industry sector in order to develop their international business and to sell their products successfully on the world market,” says Nicola Hamann, Managing Director of the organisers, Mack Brooks Exhibitions.
Major exhibitor countries, next to Germany, are Italy, Turkey, China, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, the USA and Great Britain. Some of these countries participate at this year’s event with a considerably higher number of exhibitors than ever before, such as Italy, Great Britain, Turkey and China.
EuroBLECH 2014 offers its audience a comprehensive overview of technological innovations in sheet metal working in eight exhibition halls. The show profile represents the complete sheet metal working technology chain: sheet metal, semi-finished and finished products, handling, separation, forming, flexible sheet metal working, joining, welding, tube / section processing, surface treatment, processing of hybrid structures, tools, quality control, CAD/CAM systems, factory equipment and R&D.
Visitors will be able to see live demonstrations of a large variety of machinery and systems at impressive exhibition stands and discuss practical applications with top industry experts. The participation of exhibiting research institutions complements the event; the results of their research programmes provide the necessary foundations for technological development. Processing of hybrid structures for lightweight construction is currently high on the agenda of exhibiting research institutions.
