IoTmaxx GmbH from Hanover stands for powerful and transparent industrial IoT solutions for medium-sized companies that are easy to use. IIoT cellular gateways developed in-house form the hardware basis for the concepts for remote monitoring and remote maintenance of industrial systems. With the maxx GW4102, the company is introducing its third robust industrial IoT gateway, which thanks to its PLC extension offers further communication options and application possibilities.

The Linux-based, freely programmable industrial gateway maxx GW4102 for top-hat rail mounting relies on maximum wireless availability through communication via cellular networks in the LTE 4G network as well as network redundancy via two SIM cards. Thanks to the “always online” functionality, the gateway automatically establishes a connection and, in the event of an error, automatically re-establishes the connection. This means that there is unrestricted access to the maintenance-free device at any time and from any location.

Interface diversity and PLC expansion

The programmable sensor gateway processes applications in different programming languages and enables the use of predefined and individually tailored functions as well as customer-specific applications. The Industrial IoT gateway provides various physical interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-485, CAN bus and 1-Wire. They are used to connect end devices with communication interfaces and sensors. With the PLC extension, additional isolated digital signal inputs and outputs are added.

Flexible cabling thanks to cascading

The cabling effort for the 16 digital, isolated inputs is significantly simplified by grouping the inputs and assigning the connectors. By cascading the digital input blocks, z. For example, 16 inputs of one controller or eight inputs of two controllers can be connected – all with only one negative pole per controller. Digital control outputs can also be connected directly and significantly reduce the cabling effort. Four digital isolated outputs with a switching current of up to 300 mA are also possible.

The highest security of all IoTmaxx customer solutions is guaranteed, among other things, by integrated firewalls, password-protected access management, secure connection via OpenVPN and a secure chip.
