Rollon, a specialist in linear motion technology, has introduced a redesigned version of its ball-screw-driven TV actuators. The update focuses on three areas: higher moment load capacity, better protection of internal components and improved overall performance.
The TV range comes in sizes 65, 80 and 110 and is built for precise, repeatable positioning in many industrial applications.
Wider support span for higher moment loads
The key change is in the carriage design. Rollon has placed the two linear guide blocks as far apart as possible, with the ball screw nut sitting between them. This wider support base allows the actuator to handle significantly higher moment loads.
New sealing belt to protect internal components
To keep the ball screw and linear guide system clean, Rollon has added a polyurethane sealing belt, a solution already proven in other actuator families from the company. The belt shields the internal mechanics from contaminants and is guided by micro-bearings inside the carriage. This keeps friction low as the belt passes through the carriage, without compromising the level of protection.
Flexible configuration for speed and load requirements
The redesigned actuators are offered with several ball screw leads, so machine builders can choose the best balance between speed and load. For long strokes, an optional internal ball screw support reduces shaft deflection and allows higher operating speeds.
Typical applications include industrial automation, packaging machines and robotics, wherever accurate and repeatable linear motion is needed.
“This redesign is an important step forward for the TV series. We have focused on raising moment load capacity and on better protecting the actuator’s internal components,” explains Andrea Tosi, Chief Technology Officer at Rollon. “By optimizing the carriage architecture and adding the new sealing system, we have improved the performance and reliability of the range to meet the needs of demanding automation applications.”
Ball screw technology for accurate positioning
The TV actuators combine a rigid structure with high precision and long-term reliability. A linear rail with two preloaded recirculating ball bearing blocks, together with the square profile cross section, provides stiff guidance, and positioning repeatability reaches 5 μm.
Dedicated lubrication channels for both the linear rail and the ball screw make maintenance easier and help ensure reliable operation over time.
Thanks to its new architecture, the TV series gives machine designers more freedom to meet the precision, load and speed requirements of different automation applications.
