At SPS 2026 in Nuremberg, which runs from 24 to 26 November, LAPP will present a connectivity concept that does not stop at the physical cable and connector. The company will show how a connection can be carried through to engineering data using the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) and digital twins. Visitors will find LAPP in Hall 2, Stand 310.
Motion Cell: energy, data and movement working together
The central exhibit on the stand is the Motion Cell. It shows how power, data, signals and motion interact in an automated process, and how each connection point helps keep the application reliable.
New IO-Link masters and LAPP’s first signal lamps
LAPP is expanding its active network components with the Unitronic Access Basic IOL series of IO-Link masters. The devices offer Class A or Class B ports, connect to Industrial Ethernet networks and support bidirectional diagnostics, including remote maintenance. LAPP is also entering a new product area with Unitronic Sign, its first range of signal lamps. They provide 360° status indication and come with matching mounting accessories.
EPIC connectors for flexible and EMC-safe installation
The EPIC connector family has three new additions:
- EPIC M23S Quickflex: a connector with an adjustable cable outlet and quick-lock mechanism for faster installation.
- EPIC MH RJ45: a modular solution for transmitting different media in a single connector.
- EPIC H-B 10 AG-EMC: a housing designed for applications that need reliable electromagnetic shielding.
From pre-assembled cables to complete systems
With its Harnessing Solutions, LAPP covers everything from ready-made cables and wiring harnesses to complete Box Build systems. For applications that require custom-made cables, the company works with UNIKA, its subsidiary specialising in special cables, under the Special Cable Solutions offering.
Asset Administration Shell as the basis for digital product data
A key topic at the stand is the Asset Administration Shell. It standardises how product data is exchanged between IT and OT systems. Its modular structure can hold documentation, 3D CAD models and digital nameplates. For LAPP, the AAS is the groundwork for the upcoming Digital Product Passport and for automating the creation of electrical schematics. This lets machine builders and system integrators reuse cable and connector data across engineering, production and maintenance without entering it again by hand.
