INSYS icom, a leading producer of industrial routers and specialist in industrial data communication, names René Al-Abid as Head of Product. In his new position, the ex-Product Manager will advocate for the systematic incorporation of security, compliance, and governance standards throughout the complete product portfolio.
As a Product Manager, René Al-Abid helped advance M2M communication services and software products for one and a half years. In his role as Head of Product, he will now take complete charge of INSYS icom’s product strategy.
“Industrial communication today is inextricably linked to IT security and regulatory responsibility. My goal is to create products that are fundamentally secure, traceable and compliant – not as an add-on, but as a foundation”, says René Al-Abid. “INSYS icom should become the equivalent of secure and compliant industrial communication for customers and partners – especially in security-critical and critical infrastructure-related fields of application.“
Recently, René Al-Abid was employed at Myra Security, a top provider of cyber security solutions for critical infrastructures and the public sector in Germany. Leveraging the expertise acquired there, INSYS icom integrates IT security proficiency from safety-sensitive contexts into its own product organization.
The appointment will play a crucial role in the ongoing success of the company. “Together with René Al-Abid, we are uniting product accountability and security knowledge in a single central hub.” Florian Froschermeier, Managing Director of INSYS icom, states that this is a crucial move to address the increasing needs of our clients in mechanical engineering, essential infrastructure, and other regulated sectors.
