Siemens Sinamics G200, G210C, G210X, G210 and G220 drives of the new Sinamics G generation

At SPS 2026 (Hall 11), Siemens is presenting a new generation of Sinamics G drives for continuous-motion applications. The portfolio is built on a single technology platform. It is aimed at machine builders and plant operators who want more productivity, better energy efficiency and stronger cybersecurity, with less effort in engineering, commissioning and day-to-day operation.

Four new models around the Sinamics G220

The new drives join the high-end Sinamics G220, launched in 2023, to form a fully scalable range:

  • Sinamics G200 – a drive for general-purpose industrial applications.
  • Sinamics G210C – a compact unit for machines that need high power density and strong overload capability.
  • Sinamics G210 – a flexible drive for moving, positioning and processing tasks.
  • Sinamics G210X – a drive with dedicated functions for pumps, fans, compressors and other infrastructure applications.

Because all five models share a common platform, OEMs can standardize their automation across different machine series and manage product variants more easily.

Security by Design and SIL3 safety

Cybersecurity was considered from the first stage of development. Every drive in the new generation will be ready for the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The drives offer integrated protection up to Security Level Capability 2 (SL-C 2) under IEC 62443-4-2. Integrated safety functions reach Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL3), so safety can be implemented directly in the drive.

Simpler engineering with TIA Portal

The drives integrate fully into TIA Portal and include a built-in web server. A unified engineering and operating concept covers the whole lifecycle, from drive selection and configuration through commissioning, diagnostics and service. This shortens development times and reduces the learning curve when moving between models.

Data for energy management and predictive maintenance

Ethernet-based OPC UA communication makes drive and process data available to higher-level systems. Users can apply this data to asset and energy management, condition monitoring and predictive maintenance strategies, gaining transparency into how their machines and plants run.
