Siemens has released version 5.0 of LSinaSup, a library for SIMATIC controllers that handles backups and commissioning tasks for SINAMICS drives directly from the PLC program, with no external tools required.
The library includes three function blocks. SINA_BACKUP_RESTORE creates a complete copy of the drive’s parameterization and stores it in a global DB on the PLC, from where it can be restored, either cloning the communication settings as well (ideal for replacing a faulty unit) or keeping them (designed for series commissioning). SINA_SERVICE saves parameters retentively, resets the drive to factory settings and acknowledges faults. The main new feature is SINA_CMD_CHN, which extends these functions with commissioning mode activation and motor and control parameter calculation for next-generation SINAMICS drives from firmware V6.4 HF6.
It requires STEP 7 V20 or higher and supports S7-1500, S7-1200 G2, ET 200SP and ET 200pro CPUs, software controllers and the Open Controller, as well as the S7-1500 integrated in SINUMERIK ONE. The classic S7-1200 only supports the SINA_CMD_CHN block.
