Adaptive safety is a crucial element of smart machine designs. S-DIAS Safety offers users a streamlined and cost-effective solution that guarantees optimal reliability in safety-critical applications (SIL 3, PL e, Cat. The SCP 211 safety controller by SIGMATEK now provides a master for the FSoE safety protocol (Safety over EtherCAT). With the master capability, FSoE slave devices from various manufacturers can be incorporated into an S-DIAS safety application, where they are safely managed and observed. Information can be transmitted through EtherCAT or VARAN.

The SCP 211 can be set up as an FSoE master, with the safety application created in the LASAL SAFETYDesigner graphical tool. For this purpose, the ESI files of the FSoE slave devices are accessed. To facilitate the development of safety-related applications, the library includes more than 50 PLCopen-compliant safety function blocks such as emergency stop, guard locking, muting, two-hand control, interpolation, and more. The safety program is set up once with all potential optional modules and can subsequently be customized as needed, meaning there is a single safety program for every expansion stage of a machine.

Along with the SCP 211 measuring just 25 mm in width, the modular S-DIAS safety solution offers a variety of safety I/O modules that allow tailored safety applications.

For users, the enhancement of the SCP 211 with FSoE allows flexible and extensive deployment of safety-related features of cross-manufacturer safety elements, such as with controls, motion, robotics, and AGVs.

S-DIAS Safety can be utilized as an independent solution as well
