Miniature fork sensor and label sensor from wenglor for object and label detection in packaging lines

Compact Sensor Technology for Reliable Label and Object Detection

wenglor sensoric group has broadened its product range with two new sensor families designed to tackle detection challenges across packaging, conveying and automation applications: miniature fork sensors and dedicated label sensors. The former deliver dependable object detection even in tight spaces, while the latter keep labeling processes consistent regardless of whether the material is transparent, glossy or low in contrast.

The new fork sensors pair an exceptionally small footprint with high switching precision, making installation straightforward even where space is at a premium — for example, on shuttle systems or automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

They can pick up parts as small as 0.7 mm and are offered in three fork widths — 10, 20 and 30 mm — giving users flexibility across a range of applications. Thanks to their light weight, compact housing and IP67/IP68 protection rating, these miniature fork sensors are well suited to conveyor belts, assembly lines and robotic systems.

Complementing this range are the new label sensors, available in optical and ultrasonic variants to cover a broad spectrum of labeling materials. The optical version uses infrared light to detect labels based on the reflected signal; its compact build and strong repeatability allow it to reliably identify both thin and thick labels even at high conveyor speeds.

The ultrasonic version, meanwhile, identifies labels by measuring variations in sound attenuation, meaning it works independently of color, transparency or surface finish — making it a strong fit for transparent, glossy or low-contrast labels. With a response time of just 0.25 ms, it too delivers dependable detection at high line speeds.
