WIKA has launched a new line of sensors designed to track key properties of gases and liquids in real time. The DTG-30, DTL-30 and VTL-30 models stand out for their compact, rugged build, making them easy to integrate into a broad range of applications — from OEM products and systems to demanding industrial settings. Even where mounting space is tight, these instruments fit smoothly into tank trucks, fully assembled industrial skids, analysers, or retrofit projects.

This small footprint is possible thanks to WIKA’s proprietary MesoScale® technology, a patented approach that combines sensor design, sensor actuation and software into a single solution. MesoScale® merges the advantages of a miniaturised sensor with the durability of proven stainless steel construction. The result is a range of instruments capable of measuring density, viscosity and temperature in liquids and gases with high accuracy across process applications.

Common use cases include fuel identification and quality control. The DTL-30 can flag misfuelling events, track additive blending and convert volume readings into mass flow. These sensors also play a role in industrial decarbonisation efforts: the VTL-30 measures viscosity and density in amine solutions, supporting the reliable operation of carbon capture systems.

Built with wetted parts in 316L stainless steel, the sensors are engineered to hold up under tough operating conditions. Since they experience minimal drift and contain no moving parts, users gain long-term stability without needing frequent recalibration. All models carry hazardous-area certifications, including ATEX, IECEx and FM.

Precision and repeatability remain consistent across the full calibration range. Each sensor calculates real-time confidence factors, giving users immediate insight into the reliability of the readings. With fast response times and a 1 Hz output frequency, the sensors deliver timely data. The DTG-30 can additionally be paired with WIKA’s BSU-30 calculation unit, which merges multiple sensor inputs to compute values such as average molar mass and specific gravity.
