Three themes on one stand in Nuremberg

The Weidmüller Group will exhibit at SPS – Smart Production Solutions in Nuremberg from Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 November 2026, in Hall 9, Stand 351. The Detmold-based company is bringing three themes to the fair: an open ecosystem for industrial automation and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), technology for faster and more automated panel building, and a consulting offer that covers both.

For Dr. Sebastian Durst, CEO of the Weidmüller Group, industrial transformation is driven by openness, connectivity and intelligent automation. The company develops its solutions together with customers and partners so that industrial firms can make their processes more efficient, more resilient and future-proof. At SPS, he says, Weidmüller will show how those requirements are met in practice.

An open ecosystem for automation and IIoT

The stand’s guiding idea is “Open Ecosystem for Industrial Automation and IIoT”. Weidmüller will show how automation and digital solutions can be linked efficiently through open interfaces, modular architectures and consistent system landscapes.

The core of this approach is the u-mation portfolio, which combines the open operating system u-OS with hardware, software and service building blocks for flexible automation projects.

Cybersecurity is the second focus. Weidmüller’s security solutions are meant to protect machines, plants and data reliably, and to help companies prepare early for the requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act.

Dr. Timo Berger, Chief Technology Officer of the Weidmüller Group, describes u-mation as an open ecosystem that connects data, systems and processes efficiently. He adds that it meets the highest industrial cybersecurity requirements and lays the groundwork for integrating artificial intelligence seamlessly.

Panel building of the future

Panel building is again at the centre of the stand in 2026. Weidmüller’s own SNAP IN connection technology allows fast, intuitive and reliable wiring. It is designed for automated applications and is “ready-to-robot”, meaning prepared for robot-assisted wiring.

The Workplace Solutions range complements it by helping panel builders organise their workstations more efficiently and take the next step towards automated processes.

Live demonstrations will feature the Klippon® Automated RailAssembler and the RailCutter. Together with its partner Bürkle, Weidmüller will also present applications based on the Klippon® Automated RailLaser and RailAssist, which further streamline workflows in panel building.

According to Dr. Berger, efficiency, the availability of skilled workers and process reliability increasingly decide how competitive a panel builder is. SNAP IN, Workplace Solutions and the automated processing systems are the company’s concrete answers to those challenges.

Consulting and a partner network

Beyond products, Weidmüller will present its consulting services at SPS. Its specialists advise customers on machine and panel building, industrial IoT, energy management, software and security. The Weidmüller Solution Partner Network supports companies that want to implement complete automation solutions.

By combining technology expertise, consulting and its partner network, Weidmüller aims to help industrial companies handle digital transformation and unlock potential along the whole value chain.
