Plastics Process 4.0 is the focus of GEFRAN ‘s trade fair presence at K 2025. In impressive live demonstrations, the manufacturer of sensors, process control systems, and automation components will demonstrate how the plastics industry can use GEFRAN to increase the efficiency and sustainability of its processes. A new power control product will also be on display.

Several highlights will demonstrate to trade visitors to the world’s leading K trade fair in Düsseldorf how GEFRAN’s product solutions are helping to shape process control and energy management in the plastics industry. From October 8 to 15, 2025, the manufacturer will be showcasing its sensor, power control, and automation portfolio, with which it has shaped the industry for decades, at booth F09 in Hall 10.

Premiere for new power controller: GRC

GEFRAN will also be presenting its latest power controller, the GRC, for the uninterrupted control of thermal processes. The compact GRC is available in mono-, bi-, and tri-phase versions and can therefore be tailored to the power requirements of the respective application. It features Smart Load Management, which enables it to efficiently control its load output. With an integrated web server for remote monitoring and Digital Twin functionality for predictive maintenance, the GRC offers a high level of user-friendliness. The GRC complements the range of smart power controllers of the GR platform, which, in its typical green color, can be found in numerous control cabinets in the plastics industry. These will also be on display at the GEFRAN booth.

Live Demo 1: Intelligently Controlled Extrusion Line

With an intelligently controlled extrusion line, GEFRAN will demonstrate live how the interaction of its products, from the field level to the PLC and the IIoT platform, increases the efficiency of plastics production. The system combines the G-Mation P6 modular automation controller , G3 I/O modules, and a V45 panel for operation. The system is connected to MAX, GEFRAN’s IIoT platform. This provides users with real-time data on energy consumption, machine status, and performance. GEFRAN’s AI-based GAIA assistant is also integrated. It provides context-based support for users during training and system operation.

Live Demo 2: Reducing Power Consumption with Braking Energy

GEFRAN will demonstrate how it can increase the sustainability of all-electric injection molding machines with a demonstration of its Energy Recovery System. This system uses the energy from the machine’s own braking resistors to charge internal batteries. This significantly reduces power consumption from the grid, minimizes peak consumption, and helps optimize energy contracts. The Energy Recovery System will be connected to an injection molding machine at the GEFRAN plant in Provaglio d’Iseo, Italy. Using the MAX dashboard, visitors to the Düsseldorf booth can monitor key performance indicators in real time and activate the Smart Energy Saving mode.
