In high-speed applications, the specifics of control functions, hardware, and integration are crucial. The SPS trade show 2025, taking place from November 25 to 27 in Nuremberg, offers an ideal chance for SIEB & MEYER to showcase its enhanced product line SD4x. The show this year will concentrate on the SD4S, SD4M, and SD4B series, which have been enhanced in recent months to encompass an even wider array of applications.
In 2024, SIEB & MEYER AG managed to boost sales by 55 percent to reach 55.7 million euros. The key factor behind this success was the strong demand for PCB drilling and routing machines in the Asian market. These favorable numbers were sustained over the initial six months of 2025. To meet the increased order demand, SIEB & MEYER hired over 90 additional staff in the production sector. This allows the company to ensure an uninterrupted and dependable supply to clients.
In terms of technology, SIEB & MEYER also has set the course for the future: with the end of the first half year, all CNC customers have switched to the new control generation CNC 93.00 for PCB routing machines and CNC 95.00 for PCB drilling machines. Both control versions offer intuitive operation and high clarity, which makes the training of new operators easier and reduces errors. Regarding interfaces, the CNC 9x.00 generation sets new standards for networking and automation of PCB drilling/routing machines thanks to its IIoT technology based on OPC UA.
“The demand for highly complex PCBs caused by the AI boom sets an investment cycle in motion that affects the entire market,” explained Torsten Blankenburg, CTO at SIEB & MEYER AG. “We reacted to this development early on and systematically expanded our production capacities. Now, we are able to satisfy the needs of our customers even in times of very high demand.”
The business unit of drive controllers for high-speed applications was at a similar level in the first half of 2025 as in the previous year – this is a consequence of the cautious market situation in the field of classic mechanical engineering. Owing to the continuous development of the SD4x generation, SIEB & MEYER AG could set a positive trend and further expand its market position despite the general market conditions.
