Within the trio of motion control, drives, and robotics, Yaskawa will concentrate on “#onesourcesolutions” centered on the automation platform iCube Control at SPS – Smart Production Solutions 2025 (Stand 7-340 in Hall 7).
The solution provider will be highlighting integrated control concepts and new variants of frequency inverters that help machine manufacturers decrease their “time to market” in difficult economic periods, such as by permitting multiple programmers to collaborate on a project at the same time
iCube Control platform
The iCube Control platform utilizes the open PLCnext technology from Phoenix Contact and integrates traditional PLC programming (IEC 61131-3) with contemporary high-level languages like C/C++, C#, or MATLAB® Simulink® within a real-time Linux setting, emphasizing cyber security according to IEC 62443.
Yaskawa enhances this foundation with extensive knowledge in motion control and robotics. The outcome is a robust automation system that effectively integrates hardware and software, greatly streamlining the development of mechatronic systems.
In the present version, for instance, Delta and Scara robots can be synchronized with Yaskawa servo technology for handling, packaging, or other intricate systems without requiring an extra robot controller. Yaskawa will showcase in two live demo cells at the stand that, alongside the practical benefits of a standardized automation platform, there is also a reduced need for components.
The cells indicate that the iCube Control automation platform achieves its maximum effectiveness when paired with the Sigma-X advanced AC servo system. The newest advancement in the Sigma series delivers optimal motion performance, incorporating vibration reduction and friction compensation, while also making handling and commissioning even easier
Machine Integrated Robotic Approach „#onesourcesolutions“
The result of this combination is the Machine Integrated Robotic approach “#onesourcesolutions”: Because this means that only a single controller is required to control multiple robots and servo drives, integration is significantly simplified and operational efficiency is increased at the same time. As a broad-based provider, Yaskawa is able to supply all the necessary elements from a single source – from individual components and software to complete solutions. Robots, drive technology, motion control, HMI, IOs and IIoT readiness are thus seamlessly integrated, making this system unique.
New frequency inverters
Yaskawa will also be presenting the new HV600 frequency inverter, which has been specially developed for building automation. With its functions specially tailored to the HVAC market for controlling fans, pumps or compressors, the HV600 series exceeds the previous requirements of the industry. HV600 sets new standards in the industry with greater flexibility, more control and minimal downtime.
Also new is the Floor Standing solution with U1000, a state-of-the-art frequency inverter based on Yaskawa’s innovative Matrix technology. This individually configurable package provides a robust and reliable control cabinet solution – designed for harsh industrial environments with DC-link-free U1000 technology. With full regenerative capability and compliance with IEEE519 mains harmonics, the U1000 cabinet solution is a future-proof system that sets the standard for power quality and energy savings, and offers high flexibility in configuring the cabinet for various industrial applications with high demands on efficiency, availability and sustainability.
