The Vision Unit Illuminated (VUI) is a small device that includes the camera, lighting, and adjustable optics featuring liquid lens technology. It greatly lowers the installation and commissioning workload.
All operational elements of the VUI are enclosed in an attractive anodized aluminum casing with protection classification IP65/67. Alongside the current models, the portfolio is now being broadened to incorporate four devices that come with color or monochrome image sensors offering resolutions of 2.3 MP or 3.1 MP at a 16 mm focal length.
The liquid lens utilized in all VUIs does not need any mechanically moving components. The device is factory-calibrated to enable focus adjustments with a high level of precision using actual measurements. The ideal selection and arrangement of lens position, aperture, and resulting depth of field guarantees that the focus can be consistently modified within the distance range of 10 to 2000 mm, meaning it extends even beyond the optimal distance range for the lighting.
Changes in refractive power due to temperature variations are accurately compensated through continuous temperature monitoring and an appropriate mathematical model.
