OMRON has introduced the new J1 inverter, a small and affordable option created for entry-level applications where space, dependability, and cost are key considerations.
As the need for customized automation solutions increases, the J1 offers crucial motor control features while emphasizing cost-effectiveness and efficiency. It is especially appropriate for uses like conveyors, mixers, small fans, pumps, and simple material handling systems in industries such as food and beverage, general manufacturing, agriculture, and HVAC.
Although it is small and affordably priced, the J1 offers features usually found in more advanced models. The J1 inverter provides reliable motor control across a broad power spectrum, ranging from 0.4 to 2.2 kW for single-phase 200V and from 0.4 to 3.7 kW for three-phase 400V. Its sturdy design incorporates elements like V/f control, Dynamic Torque Vector Control, integrated PID control, and overload protection, ensuring dependable performance in challenging environments. The unit additionally offers automatic deceleration, a sleep mode for pump and fan uses, and slip compensation to maintain consistent torque even at reduced speeds.
The installation process is made easier due to the compact IP20 housing of the inverter, enabling side-by-side placement to save cabinet space. Connectivity is managed through standard Modbus RS-485, and the J1 offers both digital and analog I/O options to accommodate various fundamental machine control requirements.
To assist both current and prospective customers, the J1 can be configured with OMRON’s Sysmac Studio and a newly created, free configuration tool named J1 Editor. This user-friendly software provides fast parameter adjustments and a simple setup procedure.
The J1 holds certifications for CE, UKCA, UL/cUL, EAC, and RoHS compliance, making it appropriate for various installations in indoor industrial environments.
